Postgraduate Day - July 9th

The CSAA conference will be preceded by a postgraduate workshop. It is a great opportunity to get to know the other postgraduate participants at the conference and to learn more about career paths for a life after the PhD.

Time: July 9th, 9am - 3.30pm
Venue: The University of Sydney, The Women’s College, Library Room

Registrations: All conference participants are welcome but please note that places are limited to 20. For registration and information, contact Tina Schilbach (tsch9269@usyd.edu.au or [+61] 0431 305256).

After the conference, in the evening of July 11th, all workshop participants are also meeting for an informal dinner and drinks in a restaurant nearby. Please note that dinner and drinks are not included in the registration, and participants will have to pay. Details on time and place will be announced. When registering, please indicate if you would like to join, so we can make the booking.

About the Postgraduate Workshop: The workshop is organised by the CSAA Postgraduate Committee and is intended as a very informal yet highly informative forum for those currently studying towards a research degree. The event will offer a chance to get to know each other and to discuss the PhD experience with a view towards possible career avenues after graduation. A particular focus will be on career options for China specialists outside of the academic world. Experts from business, public policy and philanthropy will be joining us to introduce their respective interests and institutions, and to talk about their work on China both in and outside of Australia. Students will be invited to share their own stories about their professional backgrounds and ambitions.

The workshop will not only provide helpful advice and useful information but will also be a good opportunity to socialise with the other participants before the formal start of the conference.

Workshop venue: The University of Sydney, Women’s College Library Room Address: The Women’s College, University of Sydney 15 Carillon Avenue Newtown, NSW 2042 Phone: (+612) 9517 5000 Fax: (+612) 9517 5006
